Dear researchers,

Yesterday, July 10th 2012, the European Commission has published new calls for proposals. With a volume of over 10 billion Euros, it is the largest funding package under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (2007-2013).

You will find all open calls directly on the European Commission's online information platform for FP7: http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/page/fp7_calls.

The Cooperation programme<http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/page/cooperation> is sub-divided into ten distinct thematic priorities:

- Information and Communication Technologies
- Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and New Production Technologies
- Energy
- Environment (including Climate Change)
- Transport (including Aeronautics)
- Socio-Economic Sciences and the Humanities

- Security

In the People programme<http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/page/people> (Marie Curie Actions), the calls for the following funding schemes have been published:

- Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN)
- Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES)

- Marie Curie Co-Funding of regional, national and international programmes (COFUND)

In the Capacities programme<http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/page/capacities>, a broad range of different calls have been published.

In the Ideas programme<http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/page/ideas> (European Research Council / ERC), both the

- ERC Advanced Grants as well as the

- ERC Starting Grants have been published.

Please note that the newly established ERC Consolidator Grant (eligibility window: 7 to 12 years after PhD) will be published in November 2012.

With respect to the ERC calls, researchers of the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich will receive a separate e-mail with specific information.
