Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Energy Politics



The Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences at ETH Zurich (www.gess.ethz.ch<http://www.gess.ethz.ch>) invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship in Energy Politics. The new professor will be part of the Governance section of the Department (www.cis.ethz.ch<http://www.cis.ethz.ch>).



Applicants should have an excellent academic track record and be able to develop and sustain internationally competitive research in areas such as government - private sector relations in national and international energy supply systems, design of energy-related institutions at the domestic and international level, comparative study of regulation of energy demand and promotion of energy-related R&D, or effects of military conflict and other large-scale socio-economic shocks on energy supply systems within countries and internationally. Furthermore, applicants should be committed to conducting research in an interdisciplinary environment. The new professor is expected to teach undergraduate (in German or English) and graduate level courses (in English).



Assistant professorships serve to promote the careers of young scientists. The initial appointment is for four years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional two-year period and promotion to a permanent position.
