Professur für Agrarökonomie und –politik
Professur/Assistenzprofessur (Tenure Track) für Agrar- und Ressourcenökonomie

Das Departement für Management, Technologie und Ökonomie (www.mtec.ethz.ch<http://www.mtec.ethz.ch>) und das Departement für Umweltsystemwissenschaften (www.usys.ethz.ch<http://www.usys.ethz.ch>) der ETH Zürich besetzen zwei Professuren, die ein international anerkanntes Forschungsprogramm in 1) Agrarökonomie und -politik und 2) Agrar- und Ressourcenökonomie entwickeln und führen werden.

Der/die Bewerber/-in für die Professur für Agrarökonomie und -politik verfügt über einen ausgezeichneten Forschungsausweis in der mikroökonomischen und angewandten Analyse landwirtschaftlicher Systeme und Prozesse. In der Forschung entwickelt er/sie schwerpunktmässig ökonomische und empirische Modelle mit dem Ziel, die sozioökonomischen Auswirkungen landwirtschaftlicher Systeme zu verstehen und vorherzusagen. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf der Schweiz und auf Europa. Die Professur widmet sich den vielfältigen Zusammenhängen zwischen der Nahrungsmittelproduktion und der natürlichen Umwelt sowie der sicheren Nahrungsmittelversorgung. Die Forschungsresultate dienen der Formulierung von konkreten Empfehlungen an die Landwirtschaftspolitik im nationalen und internationalen Kontext. Kenntnisse der Institutionen des Schweizer Agrarsektors sind von Vorteil.

Der/die Bewerber/-in für die Professur oder Assistenzprofessur (Tenure Track) für Agrar- und Ressourcenökonomie verfügt über einen exzellenten Publikationsausweis in der agrar- oder ressourcenökonomischen Forschung. Starke methodische Kompetenzen in der dynamisch-makroökonomischen und/oder empirischen Modellierung gesamtwirtschaftlicher Prozesse mit Anwendung auf Agrar- und Ressourcenthemen sind erforderlich. Die Forschung konzentriert sich auf makroökonomische und internationale Modelle, die sich auf mikroökonomische Fundierung und regionale Anwendungen abstützen. Der/die zukünftige Stelleninhaber/in verfügt über die Fähigkeit, die nationale und globale Ressourcenpolitik aktiv und fundiert mitzugestalten.

Von beiden erfolgreichen Bewerbern/-innen wird erwartet, dass sie sich am Lehrplan der Agrarwissenschaften im Departement für Umweltsystemwissenschaften auf Bachelor- und Masterstufe beteiligen. Die Professuren engagieren sich in Forschungs- und Lehrkooperationen mit Kollegen/-innen aus den Sozial- und Naturwissenschaften an beiden Departementen, der ETH allgemein, sowie anderen multidisziplinären Forschungszentren und Institutionen.

Professor of Agricultural Economics and Policy
Professor/Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Agricultural and Resource Economics

The Department of Management, Technology and Economics (www.mtec.ethz.ch<http://www.mtec.ethz.ch>) and the Department of Environmental Systems Science (www.usys.ethz.ch<http://www.usys.ethz.ch>) at ETH Zurich invite applications for two professorships to develop and lead an internationally recognized research program in 1) Agricultural Economics and Policy and 2) Agricultural and Resource Economics.

The Professor of Agricultural Economics and Policy will have a solid background in agricultural microeconomics. Her/his research will apply and further develop economic and empirical models to understand and forecast the socioeconomics of a wide range of agricultural systems, with a focus on Switzerland and Europe. Research will include the links between food production and the environment and address food security. Research will be applicable to formulating novel and robust agricultural policies in a national and international context. Knowledge of Swiss agricultural institutions, to an extent that would allow for contributing to Swiss policy development, is an asset.

The Professor or Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Agricultural and Resource Economics will have an excellent publication record in agricultural and/or resource economics. Strong competencies in dynamic macroeconomic and/or empirical modeling applied to agricultural and resource topics are required. Research will focus on macroeconomic and international issues as related to microeconomic foundations and regional applications. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to contribute to resource policy on a national and international level.

The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate (German or English) and graduate courses (English) within the agricultural curriculum of the Department of Environmental Systems Science. The professorships will be expected to engage in research and teaching collaborations with colleagues from the social and natural sciences at ETH, and other relevant multi-disciplinary research centers and institutions.
