Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Smart Building Solutions

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering  (www.baug.ethz.ch<http://www.baug.ethz.ch>) and the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (www.mavt.ethz.ch<http://www.mavt.ethz.ch>) at ETH Zurich conjointly invite applications for the above-mentioned position.

The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong and visible research programme in the area of control and diagnostics of building systems with a focus on integrated data processing coupling the flow of information on mass and energy transfer with the construction of a building or groups of buildings. Therefore, applicants should be able to bridge research fields of automatic control and diagnostics, construction, and energy efficiency.  Candidates need to hold a PhD degree and have an excellent record of accomplishments in engineering or computer science. In addition, commitment to teaching undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English) and the ability to lead a research group are expected.


Assistant professorships have been established to promote the careers of younger scientists. ETH Zurich implements a tenure track system equivalent to other international top universities.
