Professor of Risk and Insurance Economics

The Department of Management, Technology and Economics (www.mtec.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned position.

Successful candidates have established an international reputation in the field of Risk and Insurance Economics, which can include Statistical and Economic Foundations of Insurance, Competition, Regulation and Standardisation of Insurance Markets, Management of Risks in the Public and Private Sector, Systemic Risk in Insurance, as well as Challenges and Trends in Insurance such as Digitization.
Zurich is one of the major European financial markets with a strong presence of leading insurance companies. The new professorship will have a key role in the ETH Risk Initiative and will benefit from the strong interest of the finance and insurance sector for close collaboration and interaction between financial practice and academia.

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in financial mathematics, economics, actuarial science, or a closely related field, and be established members of the international research community.  Teaching at all levels should cover Risk and Insurance Economics and related fields. In general, at ETH Zurich undergraduate level courses are taught in German or English and graduate level courses are taught in English.
