Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Algorithmic System Theory

 

The Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering
(www.ee.ethz.ch <http://www.ee.ethz.ch> ) at ETH Zurich invites applications
for the above-mentioned position.

 

The new professor is expected to develop a strong and internationally
visible research program in control systems and automation. We are looking
for applicants with a strong background in areas including system
identification and adaptive control, decision making under uncertainty,
data-driven and formal methods, as well as the applications of control and
automation to areas including autonomous systems, transportation, energy,
industrial processes, and biomedical systems. Candidates with both a control
theory profile and a profile oriented towards applications of automation
will be considered. A research profile showing synergies with other research
areas in the Department of Information and Electrical Engineering and ETH
Zurich more broadly is welcomed.

 

The successful candidate must be committed to innovative and engaging
teaching. She or he should be interested in teaching classes in the various
areas of dynamics and control. At ETH Zurich, undergraduate level courses
are taught in German or English and graduate level courses are taught in in
English.

 

Assistant professorships have been established to promote the careers of
younger scien­tists. ETH Zurich implements a tenure track system equivalent
to that of other top international universities.
