<p class="MsoNormal">Mit dem Gender Monitoring 2015/16 liegen aktualisierte Daten zur Situation von Frauen und Männern an der ETH Zürich vor. Im diesjährigen Fokus des Gender Monitoring Berichts steht die Vereinbarkeit von Beruf bzw. akademischer Karriere mit
 Familienaufgaben.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u>Die wichtigsten Ergebnisse im Überblick<o:p></o:p></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Auf allen Stufen der wissenschaftlichen Karriere liegen die tatsächlichen Frauenanteile unter den Zielwerten der Zielvereinbarung der ETH Zürich mit dem ETH-Rat für die Jahre 2013 bis 2016 und eine vollständige Zielerreichung bis ins Jahr
 2016 erscheint eher unwahrscheinlich. 2015 verharrte der Frauenanteil unter den Studierenden das 13. Jahr in Folge bei rund 30%. Der Doktorandinnen-Anteil sank leicht um 0.6 Prozentpunkte auf 30.7%. Der Frauenanteil unter den Postdoktorierenden veränderte
 sich 2015 mit 28.2% kaum. Hingegen stieg der Frauenanteil unter den Senior Scientists seit 2007 kontinuierlich an und beträgt 2015 15%. Unter den Assistenzprofessuren ist seit einem Maximum von 29.5% im Jahr 2012 ein Rückgang des Frauenanteils zu verzeichnen.
 2015 betrug der Frauenanteil 22.3%. Dem steht ein Anstieg des Frauenanteils auf Stufe der ordentlichen und ausserordentlichen Professuren von 1.1 Prozentpunkten auf 11.3% gegenüber. Im Durchschnitt aller Professuren lag der Frauenanteil 2015 bei 13.3%<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Des Weiteren war 2015 das erste Jahr, in dem in allen Departementen mindestens eine ordentliche oder ausserordentliche Professur durch eine Frau besetzt war. Manche Departemente wiesen hohe Wachstumsraten auf: Das D-ITET hatte vor 2014
 nur eine Assistenzprofessorin; 2015 wurden hier zu dieser Assistenzprofessorin zwei weitere Frauen auf ordentliche oder ausserordentliche Professuren berufen. Das D-BSSE besetzte im Jahr 2014 die erste Vollprofessur mit einer Frau. Im Jahr 2015 folgte eine
 weitere Besetzung einer Vollprofessur mit einer Frau.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Durch die Berufungen der Assistenzprofessorinnen im D-INFK und D-ITET auf Vollprofessuren, wurde im Jahr 2015 keine Assistenzprofessur in diesen Departementen von einer Frau besetzt. Dieser positiven Entwicklung steht ein Rückgang des Professorinnen-Anteils
 in anderen Departementen, beispielsweise im D-MATH, gegenüber. Der Professorinnen-Anteil (Vollprofessur und Assistenzprofessur) im D-MATH sank von 10.6% im Jahr 2006 auf 5.8% im Jahr 2015.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Im diesjährigen Fokus des Gender Monitoring Berichts steht die Vereinbarkeit von Beruf bzw. akademischer Karriere mit Familienaufgaben. Befragungen zeigen, dass ETH Professorinnen und Professoren sowie ETH Doktoratsabsolventinnen und -absolventen
 die Vereinbarkeit der akademischen Karriere mit Familienaufgaben in ihren Fachgebieten weiterhin als eher schwer beurteilen. Die ETH Zürich ist bestrebt ihre Rahmenbedingungen für Angehörige mit Familienaufgaben zu verbessern und ihr Angebot auszubauen. 2016
 hat die ETH Zürich bereits einige neue Massnahmen gestartet.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">With this 2015/16 issue of the Gender Monitoring report we present the current data pertaining to the situation of gender equality at ETH Zurich. In addition, this year's Gender Monitoring takes a closer look on the compatibility
 of work or academic career and family responsibilities.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><u><span lang="EN-US">A Brief Summary of the Most Important Results<o:p></o:p></span></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">On all levels of the scientific career, the actual proportions of women lie below the objective agreement of ETH Zurich with the ETH Board 2013-2016 and it does not appear very probable that these goals will be completed
 by 2016.  <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">In 2015, the proportion of women among students has remained at the the same level of 30% for the thirteenth year in succession now. The proportion of female doctoral students decreased slightly by 0.6 percentage points
 to 30.7%. The proportion of women among postdocs barely changed and, thus, has remained at 28.2%. However, the proportion of women among senior scientists has been increasing constantly since 2007 and reached 15% in 2015. Since the peak of 29.5% in 2012, a
 drop of the proportion of female assistant professors was recorded. In 2015 this proportion declined to 22.3%. In contrast, the proportion of female full and associate professors increased by 1.1 procentage points to 11.3%. On average of all professorships,
 the proportion of women of 2015 was 13.3%.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Additionally, 2015 was the first year where in all departments at least one full or associate professorship was occupied by a woman. Some departments experienced high rates of growth: Before 2014, D-ITET had only one
 female assistant professor and no woman in a full professorship. In 2015, however, the assistant professor and two additional female scientists were appointed to full or associate professorships in this department. In 2014, D-BSSE appointed the first female
 scientist to full professor. In 2015 a second female scientist was appointed to a full professor. Due to the appointments of the female assistant professors to full professors at D-INFK and D-ITET, no assistant professorship was occupied by a women in these
 departments in 2015.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The positive trend stands in contrast with a decrease in other departments, for example in D-MATH. In this department the proportion of female professors decreased from 10.6% in 2006 to 5.8% in 2015.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">This year’s Gender Monitoring Report takes also a closer look to the reconciliation of working life or academic career and family responsibilities. Surveys show that ETH’s professors and doctoral graduates perceive research
 in their fields and family responsibilities as rather irreconcilable. ETH Zurich endeavours to extent its offer and improve frameworks for supporting ETH members with family responsibilities. In 2016, ETH Zurich has already initiated various new actions.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
