in Research: A Practical Guide for Research Funding and Research Performing Organisations’. An invitation is attached to this email.

<p><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">Increased diversity leads to better research and can be a major resource for scientific excellence. All researchers should be enabled to realise their full potential, regardless of gender,
sexual orientation, age, religion, disabilities, ethnic origins or social background. The Science Europe Working Group on Gender and Diversity has championed providing equal opportunities since 2014 as a way of strengthening of national research organisations
and scientific excellence. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">The Practical Guide on ‘How to Improve Gender Equality in Research’ is structured around three crucial issues:
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">• how to avoid unconscious bias in peer-review processes;<br>
• how to monitor gender equality; and<br>
• how to improve grant management practices. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">It makes concrete suggestions on how to implement effective change via the recommendation of specific measures, and includes many good practice examples. For each of the three topics,
presentations of the findings and recommendations of the Working Group will be followed by a panel discussion with key stakeholders, as well as by an open discussion with all workshop participants.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
