Um die Anzahl Professorinnen und Frauen in akademischen Leitungsgremien zu erhöhen, schreibt die Medizinische Fakultät der Universität Zürich zum dritten Mal das </font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b>Laufbahnförderprogramm "Filling the Gap"</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"> für Klinikerinnen und Kliniker aus.<br>

</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b>Ziel und Aufbau<br>
</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial">„Filling the Gap“ hat zum Ziel, in erster Linie (angehende) Ärztinnen - und auch Ärzte - innerhalb der universitären Spitäler, der Partnerspitäler, des Zentrums für Zahnmedizin und anderer universitärer Institute der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Zürich über einen Zeitraum von zwei Jahren zu fördern.</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b><br>

Das Programm baut auf 3 Säulen auf:</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b><br>
- Planen: </b></font><font size="2" face="Arial">Gezielte Laufbahnplanung zusammen mit der Klinikdirektion</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b><br>
- Fördern: </b></font><font size="2" face="Arial">Benennen einer Mentorin / eines Mentors zur Begleitung Ihrer Laufbahn</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b><br>
- Unterstützen</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial">: Bezahlte freie Forschungszeit von 20% bis 50% pro Jahr<br>

Im Programm wird auch die Vereinbarkeit von klinischer Tätigkeit und Forschung mit dem Privatleben thematisiert.</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b><br>

Voraussetzungen</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"><br>
- Sie sind im letzten Studienjahr oder bereits Ärztin / Arzt<br>
- Sie haben eine klinische Anstellung mit einer klinischen Tätigkeit von mindestens 70% Ihres<br>
Gesamtpensums an einem universitären Spital, einem Partnerspital, dem Zentrum für Zahnmedizin<br>
oder anderen Instituten der Medizinischen Fakultät, bzw. haben eine klinische Anstellung in Aussicht.<br>
- Sie haben sich entschieden, einen akademischen Weg zu begehen bzw. weiter zu verfolgen<br>
- Sie möchten als Klinikerin / Kliniker Ihre wissenschaftliche Laufbahn gezielt voranbringen</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b><br>

In order to increase the representation of women professors as well as the proportion of women in academic leadership positions, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich announces for the third time the career development program</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b> “Filling the Gap</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b><i>”</i></b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"><i> </i></font><font size="2" face="Arial">for physician scientists.<br>

</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b>Scope and Strucure</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"><br>
Filling the Gap aims to support the academic career of (future) physician scientists working at one of the University's hospitals, the affiliated academic hospitals, the Center of Dental Medicine or other institutes of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich during a period of two years.<br>
<br>
The Program is based on 3 pillars: </font><font size="2" face="Symbol"><br>
</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b>- Planning: </b></font><font size="2" face="Arial">Personalized career planning together with the department chair</font><font size="2" face="Symbol"><br>
</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b>- Assisting:</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"> Appointment of a mentor to support and supervise the applicant’s career</font><font size="3" face="Times New Roman"> </font><font size="2" face="Symbol"><br>
</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b>- Supporting:</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"> Paid protected research time of 20% to 50% per year<br>

The program also takes into account important aspects relating to the conciliation of the clinical and academic career with family duties and private life.</font><font size="2" face="Arial"><b><br>

</font><font size="2" face="Arial">- You are in the last year of your medical studies or already a physician scientist </font><font size="2" face="Symbol"><br>
</font><font size="2" face="Arial">- You are employed – or have a future appointment - as clinician and are at least 70% of your total<br>
workload clinically active at one of the University's hospitals, one of the affiliated academic hospitals,<br>
the Center of Dental Medicine or other institutes of the Faculty of Medicine<br>
- You are committed to develop an academic career<br>
