chronic disease, and the essential role of immunology in the health, medical and food science areas in the department.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">The successful candidate will lead a competitive research programme focusing on mucosal immunology and addressing mechanisms that link
food and nutrition with the structure, function and development of the human immune system. A desired approach involves hypothesis-driven basic molecular and systems-oriented research inspired by clinical/societal problems and potentially validated with translational
research. The new assistant professor should apply state-of-the-art cellular and molecular biological approaches, potentially including the generation and analysis of model organisms. A translational approach including collaborations with theoretical and experimental
groups at ETH Zurich and at the University Hospital Zurich is desired. At the assistant professor level, commitment to teaching and the ability to lead a research group are expected.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
