<p class="Default" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">We are looking for an outstanding candidate focused on the development and regeneration of biological systems. He or she uses a hypothesis-driven and systems-level
</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size:11.0pt">approach to address basic questions and mechanisms. While rooted in fundamental biology, the assistant professor is expected to engage with the computational and engineering groups in in the department to advance
 biological areas with great promise for break-through science in the coming years. Key areas in biology with direct implications for bioengineering and personalised health concern the understanding of developmental processes that drive the self-organized emergence
 of organ-like structures and that enable tissue regeneration; the understanding of the signalling processes that determine cellular decision-making; as well as the understanding of the molecular basis of deregulated cellular behaviour and disease.
