<p class="Default" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Successful candidates are outstanding scientists in the field of theoretical cosmology and will perform pioneering theoretical research in the exploration of the fundamental
laws of nature. The new professor will i) aim to formulate new realistic theories which extend the known fundamental laws of physics and pursue the deep questions about the origin and evolution of the universe, ii) profit from the fast paced progress which
is anticipated in observational cosmology and from future advances in other related fields such as experimental or theoretical particle physics, and iii) identify the important future milestones in the general field of cosmology and offer theoretical guidance
for their accomplishment by the wider scientific community. He or she is expected to provide inspiration and leadership in research, to be an effective and enthusiastic teacher, and to develop and teach theoretical physics courses at the bachelor (in German
or English) and master (in English) level</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">.
</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size:11.0pt">The Department of Physics offers a stimulating environment in mathematical, theoretical, and computational physics, as well as in experimental high-energy physics, condensed matter physics, astrophysics and
