Successful candidates are familiar with theoretical debates in international relations and political science and have shown a proven track record of applying a wide array of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Candidates should also have a genuine interest in Swiss security policy and policymaking.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>The new professor is expected to build up a research group and assume the leadership of the Center for Security Studies (CSS, www.css.ethz.ch), with its 50 employees, at the end of 2028. The CSS offers security policy expertise in research and science-based policy advice. The professorship will also be associated with the future ETH School of Public Policy. Continuous dialogue and knowledge transfer are an integral part of the professorship's activities. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate leadership experience, the ability to engage in dialogue with Swiss policymakers and society, and a willingness to contribute to research on Swiss security policy and politics. He or she is also expected to be fluent in English and German.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>The professor will teach courses in international and Swiss security policy and politics in the department's BA and MA programs.
