[Oberon] Is this a bug ?

Under n-o alpha 2001, selecting:
   http://www.svn.net/mycal/digital/dataslic.gif
and executing:
  Desktops.OpenDoc ^
gets me SYS:Temp.gif -- saved as a file.

And selecting:
    SYS:Temp.gif
and executing:
  Desktops.OpenDoc ^
displays the image.

Normally, Inet fetches (email, News or html) are most convenietly
packed away to the appropriate partition, by changing the Name
appropriately, before [Store].

This applies for both: Edit.Open & Desktops.OpenDoc type frames.

Not for SYS:Temp.gif !
System.Log shows some error, and yet System.Directory and Edit.Open
show something saved.

Strangely:
1. System.CopyFiles Temp.gif => Techn:DataSlicr.gif ~
saves the files in a form which is viewable.
2. The 'bad'/non-viewable save has a greater size.
Techn:DataSlicr.gif 03.08.2002 22:42:45 6088 <-- good save
Devlp:p.gif 03.08.2002 22:55:22 6123 <-- can't view.
What fancy manipulations are happening ?
---------------

There is a similar irregularity when using the FontEditor, in that when
copying pixel patterns from one CharValue to another, by editing the
namePlate before saving. The cursor needs to be removed before saving.
No error mesg. is given. Just the [Store] has no effect.
---------------

Also related to fetching 'pictures': I can't view the whole Temp.gif .
Previously while reading the tutorial I confirmed the ability to shrink and
scale (both axis) graphics -- this would make the full Temp.gif visible.

The previous (important) *.gif from the internet, I also failed to
manipulate (as per the Rembrandt tutorial).
I'm too exhausted to try this one.
Perhaps I need to convert to .Pict format first ?
I remember that drake at nospam.cis.uab.edu 'specialised' in
the Rembrandt facilty of n-o ?
