Yes, but .....

SATA controllers are cheap and can be found everywhere.

SAS controllers are not (yet) *either* cheap or common.

So even getting a team member 'hands on' access to test a driver is not readily 
assured.

Never mind others finding one of the same 'breed' that can use the drivers.
