NW's text never has the 'syntax' <DoA, DoB, ...DoN>;
as if instructing an infant, who shouldn't/can't know the underlying principles.

NW writes <the system *IS* A, B...N>, and with that provided knowledge, allows
the user/reader to know what to DO.

Of course, when for commercial reasons, the underlying mechanism must be
hidden, the user is forced to grope blindly.

Remember 50 years ago, when the med-doctor said "put out your tongue and
say ahh" ?   People/patients are more empowered today.
