Peter:

I changed the topic "OP2 for 64 bit ARM and/or RISC5" because it might
suggest that I am thinking of a 64 bit RISC5. It was not my intention.
What I really wanted to say was "OP2 for RISC5 the way it is now".

Exactly. I admit that saying "OP2" I have Oberon-2 in mind rather than the
optimizing compiler. Being able to use Oberon-2 and its literature is an
issue. The code optimization is secondary. If we are using a soft
processor then obviously we are not craving for performance.

Hmmm. Which RISC5 data types are missing? RISC5 being a soft core can be
modified to provide whatever is missing.

I get this. Like I said, it does not need to be a full OP2. The modified
NW compiler would do just fine.
