Dear all,

We are pleased to announce a new Barrelfish release.

Due to a reorganization on our mercurial server, the Barrelfish
repository URL has changed to http://hg.barrelfish.org/barrelfish.
Normally, updating the .hg/hgrc file with the new URL should be the only
necessary change. We are currently updating the links in our webpage to
reflect this change -- hopefully, it will not take too long!

This release includes a new tracing infrastructure developed by David
Stolz and Alexander Grest. A big part of their work was to create a new
trace visualisation tool (aquarium2) that is portable, allows for custom
extensions via scripts, and has a bunch of cool features such as
exporting images in svg format. Aquarium2 is available from
http://hg.barrelfish.org/aquarium2. If you want to build it and try it
out, just follow the instructions in the README file. More details can be
found in the Tracing technical note (TN-008-Tracing.pdf)

We would especially like to thank Mateusz Olczak for his recent
contributions that are included in this release: the lshw tool and a
bugfix in the de-fragmentation code, and also for his work on the e1000
driver which hopefully will be a part of a future release.

cheers,
Kornilios.
