Hi,
I was trying to run the barrelfish OS, starting with installation and running the hello world example.
The installation of the latest release, freshly cloned from git, goes smooth. barrelfish starts up in qemu simulation.
Then, I get no (apparent) errors when following the wiki instructions on compiling the hello world example, but trying to execute it, I get
> oncore 0 xmpl-hello
ERROR: spawnd.0 in spawn_with_caps_common() ../usr/spawnd/service.c:413
ERROR: spawn
Failure: ( spawn) Failure while loading [SPAWN_ERR_LOAD]
Failure: ( fs) The given name does not exist [FS_ERR_NOTFOUND]
xmpl-hello: error spawning: Failure while loading
ERROR: fish.0 in execute_program() ../usr/fish/fish_common.c:106
ERROR: Spawning Error
Failure: ( spawn) Failure while loading [SPAWN_ERR_LOAD]
Failure: ( fs) The given name does not exist [FS_ERR_NOTFOUND]

As far as I can see I followed exactly the recipe on the wiki, modifying symbolic_targets.mk and menu.lst.
I also noticed this message at startup:
[…]
fish v0.2 -- pleased to meet you!
File /init.fish not found
[…]
This, btw, appears already in the ‘vanilla’ installation. Related?
Am I missing some step? Any hint appreciated!
Thanks,
Artur
