Hi Manuel<br>
<br>
I also got the error that 'modulenounzip' is no longer valid.
Interestingly is that the feature is mentioned in the documentation
of Grub2. (<a

"Support automatic decompression<br>
Can decompress files which were compressed by gzip or xz. This
function is both automatic and transparent to the user (i.e. all
functions operate upon the uncompressed contents of the specified

particularly great benefit for floppies.<br>
It is conceivable that some kernel modules should be loaded in a
compressed state, so a different module-loading command can be
specified to avoid uncompressing the modules."<br>

But maybe it's not yet implemented or undocumented.<br>

<pre wrap="">Hi,
We just tried to do the same thing and just managed to somehow mess up
the BIOS data (NIC refused to work; BIOS reset jumper on mainboard was
necessary to get it working again)
Additionally, grub2 seems to miss a the modulenounzip functionality.
You're better off using grub legacy

<pre wrap="">Hi,
The build process for Barrelfish currently produces a 'menu.lst' for
Grub Legacy.
Is it possible to boot Barrelfish from Grub2? And if yes, does some one
have a working config file?
Using Grub2 to chainload into Grub Legacy which in turn uses elver to
finally load an ELF64 image sounds like I hack ;-)
