It will probably work, but we haven't tried it. The most likely<br>
problem will be with ACPI or PCI code. We at ETHZ run Barrelfish on<br>
Qemu (when we're not using real hardware), and the Microsoft folks<br>
boot on Hyper-V without any trouble. We also work on GEM5.<br>

Since we use grub to boot Barrelfish on real hardware, I'm guessing<br>
that would be the best way to boot it under VMware.<br>
<br>
By the way, as you probably know, Barrelfish will boot on Qemu with<br>
more than one (virtual) core, but Qemu will only use a single physical<br>
core regardless of the number of virtual cores.<br>
