Hewlett-Packard is partnering with a number of organizations to host a
series of workshops at the upcoming IFIP World Computer Congress in
Santiago de Chile.

Plaza, Salon Patagonia, from 14:00 - 19:00:
Women in the Information Society: A Global Context and Tools for
Ensuring Full Participation of Women in Latin America
Summary: This workshop will address gender equity in the information
society from the perspective of global participation; Latin American
women; and success stories, tools and best practices. Internationally
known speakers will address women's access to, benefit from and literacy
and leadership in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and
the need to educate, recruit, retain and retrain women engineering and
ICT employees to maintain global and regional competitiveness. Finally,
the workshop will offer participants concrete tools and best practices
that have demonstrated success for ensuring girls' and women's
participation in the knowledge economy.
You must attend if you are:
* An educator in ICT
* A career woman or man in technology
* A university student in technology
* An advocate for women exploring solutions to issues for women
and ICT
* Representing a public, government and private association for
women's development
