Professor in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics and

Head of Laboratory for Neutron Scattering

 

The Department of Physics at ETH Zurich (www.phys.ethz.ch) and the Paul
Scherrer Institute (www.psi.ch/) invite applications from candidates who
pursue a strong research program using neutron scattering techniques
with particular emphasis on modern materials such as strongly correlated
electron systems. The new professor will hold the position of Head of
the Laboratory for Neutron Scattering at the Paul Scherrer Institute
(PSI) in Villigen, in a joint appointment between ETH Zurich and PSI.
Teaching at ETH Zurich involves contributions to the physics curriculum
at the Bachelor level and advanced courses on condensed matter physics
in the Master's program. He or she will be expected to teach
undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level
courses (English).

 

The Department of Physics and the Paul Scherrer Institute offer a
stimulating environment in experimental, theoretical, and computational
condensed matter physics and provide access to first class experimental
facilities (Swiss Spallation Neutron Source, Swiss Light Source, and
Swiss Muon Source).
