Assistenzprofessur (Tenure Track) für Photogrammetrie 

Die Professur entwickelt in der Forschung neue Methoden zur photogrammetrischen Bildanalyse mit einem Schwerpunkt auf quantitativ-geometrische Aspekte für aktuelle und neue Anwendungsbereiche. Im Vordergrund stehen dabei die hochpräzise geometrische und stochastische Sensormodellierung, das Design von Mess-Systemen und Komponenten sowie halbautomatische und automatische Objektextraktionsverfahren und real-time-Prozessierung. Die Professur ist verantwortlich für die fachbezogenen Lehrveranstaltungen auf BSc-, MSc- und PhD-Stufe. Die Unterrichtssprache auf Masterstufe ist Englisch.

Vorausgesetzt werden eine universitäre Ausbildung mit Doktorat in Geomatik/Geodäsie oder in einer verwandten Disziplin wie Informations- oder Elektroingenieurwissenschaften  sowie ein Post-Doktorat und/oder Erfahrung in der Industrie oder in Institutionen auf dem Gebiet der Photogrammetrie. Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten verfügen über einen hervorragenden wissenschaftlichen Leistungsausweis und ein innovatives, interdisziplinäres Forschungsprogramm. Ein nationales und internationales Netzwerk ist entscheidend für eine erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit mit Industriepartnern und anderen Organisationen. 

Assistenzprofessuren dienen der Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses. Sie werden auf vier Jahre besetzt; eine Verlängerung um weitere zwei Jahre sowie eine Beförderung auf eine ausserordentliche Professur sind möglich.

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Photogrammetry

The professorship will be concerned with the development of the methodology of photogrammetric image analysis with emphasis on quantitative and geometrical aspects in connection with current and new application fields. The research will focus on accurate geometric and stochastic sensor modelling, measurement system and component design, automated and semi-automated object extraction techniques, and real-time processing. The professorship will take on responsibility for teaching at BSc, MSc and PhD levels. Courses at MSc level are taught in English.

Candidates will hold a PhD degree, preferably in Geomatics/Geodesy or in related fields like information science or electrical engineering, and have postdoctoral and/or industry/agency experience in photogrammetric technologies. They should have a record of outstanding scientific achievements and present a well-developed, novel, and creative research programme. They should be clearly committed to research in an interdisciplinary environment. Cooperation with national and international industrial partners and other organisations is also important. 

This assistant professorship has been established to promote the careers of younger scientists. The initial appointment is for four years with the possibility of renewal for an additional two-year period and promotion to a permanent position.
