Hallo equals,

Seit ich mich mit einer geänderten email-adresse in die equal-Liste eingeschrieben habe, erhalte ich die Equal-Mitteilungen immer in der untenstehenden Form. Eine umständliche und schlecht lesbare Einleitung, weil auch die Umlaute fehlen.

Ist das normal oder habe ich bei der Einschreibung etwas falsch gemacht?

Professor of Crop Science

The Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences (www.agrl.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for a professorship of Crop Science. 

The new professor is expected to develop an internationally recognized research program in plant breeding with an emphasis on the development of crops adapted to abiotic and/or biotic stresses for increased sustainable plant production or on the development of crops with improved quality for human nutrition. The research will focus on the field level and comprise investigations from the single plant trait level to the landscape level and will be relevant both for industrialized and developing countries. 

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English) in the field of crop science and plant breeding. Collaboration in research and teaching is expected within the Institute of Plant Science and with other groups of the ETH domain and related institutions. 

Please submit your application together with a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a statement of research and teaching interests, and the names and contact information of three possible referees to the President of ETH Zurich, Prof. Dr. Ralph Eichler, Raemistrasse 101, 8092 Zurich, Switzerland, no later than June 30, 2009. With a view toward increasing the number of female professors, ETH Zurich specifically encourages female candidates to apply.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren

Am Donnerstag, den 28. Mai 2009 wird Euresearch Zurich ein ganztägiges Seminar (9:00 - 16:00) an der ETH Zürich zum Thema 'How to write a competitive proposal for Framework 7' durchführen. Wir konnten dafür Herrn Dr. Sean McCarthy verpflichten, ein erfahrener Forscher und Koordinator in EU Projekten, welchen wir als Kursleiter in den letzten Jahren mit seinem wertvollen Erfahrungsschatz in Europäischen Rahmenprogrammen schätzen lernten. Die Schulung wird in englischer Sprache durchgeführt. 

Ziel des Seminars ist die erfolgreiche Antragstellung eines Projektes im 7. EU Rahmenprogramm. Die Kosten für das Seminar belaufen sich auf SFr. 150.- (inkl. MWST.). On Thursday the 28th of May 2009, Euresearch Zurich has invited Dr. Sean McCarthy, an experienced researcher and research manager for EC projects to hold a seminar entitled 'How to write a competitive proposal for Framework 7'. The aim of this one day course (9 a.m. until 4 p.m.) is to train researchers and research managers and administrators in writing professional and competitive proposals for the Seventh Framework Programme.
