Professor of Mechanical Engineering Design
The Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich (D-MAVT) has strong research activities in the fields of Manufacturing, Energy, Robotics, Mechanics and Medical, Processing and Micro/Nano Systems. For strengthening our activities, a new professorship of
Mechanical Engineering Design is open for applicants.
Candidates are expected to establish an interdisciplinary research program related to current D-MAVT research activities with a focus on product design and the development of mechanical systems. Prospective candidates should possess an outstanding research profile. Industrial experience in the development of innovative mechanical systems and products is also of key importance. Candidates should be able to consider the entire development chain, including conceptual design, engineering and design for manufacturing.
An additional prerequisite is a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education in the field of mechanical engineering design including project based learning. The professorship will be embedded in the Department's undergraduate and graduate programs.
The new professor will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English).
