Professor / Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Urban Water Systems





The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (www.baug.ethz.ch<http://www.baug.ethz.ch>) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned professorship. The primary area of interest of this position is urban water management concepts and technologies with a focus on developing engineering solutions for adaptive water and wastewater urban infrastructure. The candidate should have experience in a system level evaluation, planning, modeling, or optimization of water/wastewater systems. The new professor will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English), and to maintain an active research program, and departmental service at ETH Zurich. The research group will be located at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag) in Duebendorf (www.eawag.ch<http://www.eawag.ch>).



The successful candidate holds a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related engineering fields, and is an outstanding researcher and effective educator. The position can be filled at either Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) or Full Professor level. An Assistant Professor will be initially appointed for four years with the possibility of renewal for an additional two-year period and promotion to a permanent position. State of the art facilities and a stimulating multidisciplinary environment will be provided jointly with Eawag.
