Professur / Assistenzprofessur (Tenure Track) für Advanced Mechatronic Systems

Am Departement für Informationstechnologie und Elektrotechnik (www.ee.ethz.ch) der ETH Zürich ist eine Professur oder Assistenzprofessur mit Tenure Track für Advanced Mechatronic Systems zu besetzen. Aufgabe dieser Professur ist die Etablierung einer international führenden Forschungsaktivität im Bereich mechatronischer oder mikromechatronischer Systeme mit Fokus auf neue Sensor-, Aktor- oder Energiewandlerkonzepte. Der physikalisch basierten Modellierung, rechnergestützten Analyse und Optimierung, praktischen Realisierung und messtechnischen Untersuchung sowie der Kopplung mit moderner analoger und digitaler Elektronik und Leistungselektronik kommt hierbei besondere Bedeutung zu.

Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten für diese Professur können sich über ein Doktorat und eine international anerkannte Forschungstätigkeit in den oben genannten Bereichen ausweisen. Die Bereitschaft zur Leitung einer Forschungsgruppe sowie zur Zusammenarbeit mit Partnern innerhalb der Hochschule und mit der Industrie wird vorausgesetzt. Weiters wird die Befähigung zum Hochschulunterricht auf allen Stufen erwartet. Vorlesungen auf MSc-Stufe werden in Englisch gehalten.

Professor / Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Advanced Mechatronic Systems

The Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (www.ee.ethz.ch<http://www.ee.ethz.ch/>) at ETH Zurich invites applications for a tenured professorship or tenure-track assistant professorship in Advanced Mechatronic Systems. The responsibility of this professorship is the establishment of an internationally leading research activity in the field of mechatronic or micromechatronic systems with the focus on new sensor, actuator, or energy conversion concepts. Of special importance hereby are physics based modelling, computer assisted analysis and optimization, practical realization and experimental investigation, as well as a strong link to modern analogue and digital electronics and power electronics.

The applicant will be expected to have a Ph.D. degree and an internationally recognized research record or proven potential in the above fields. Furthermore, the new professor should present evidence of leadership in a research team and of ability to successfully cooperate with other faculty and with the industry and should be willing to teach at all university levels. He or she will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English).
