Professor / Assistant Professor of Complex Systems Control


The Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (www.ee.ethz.ch<http://www.ee.ethz.ch/>) at ETH Zurich invites applications for a tenured professorship or tenure-track assistant professorship in Complex Systems Control.

The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong and visible research programme in the area of systems and automatic control. The candidate should be able to bridge solid theoretical foundations, development of computational methods and applications to areas such as energy systems, transportation systems and biomedical systems. Candidates should hold a PhD degree and have an excellent record of accomplishments in Electrical Engineering or related fields with a specialisation in systems and control. In addition, commitment to teaching undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English) and the ability to lead a research group are expected.

Professor / Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Bioimaging

The Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (www.ee.ethz.ch<http://www.ee.ethz.ch>) at ETH Zurich and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invite applications for a professorship or assistant professorship (tenure track) in Bioimaging. The open position is designated to focus on the development and use of imaging technology for biomedical applications, including the study and modeling of human physiology. It is aimed to expand the existing Bioimaging programme, which comprises magnetic resonance, molecular imaging, x-ray microscopy, and medical image analysis. The successful candidate's research may complement current efforts in these areas or focus on an additional technology, including emerging approaches.

Candidates should have a PhD degree and an excellent track record in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Biophysics, Computer Science, or related disciplines. In addition, commitment to teaching and the ability to lead a research group are required. The new professor will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English).

Professor of Groundwater and Hydromechanics


The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (www.baug.ethz.ch<http://www.baug.ethz.ch/index_EN>) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned professorship.

The successful candidate holds a PhD degree, preferably in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or a discipline with focus on Groundwater and/or Hydromechanics (e.g. Environmental Physics) and has proven experience in the relevant research and teaching fields. He or she should have a record of outstanding scientific achievements and present a well-developed, novel and creative research programme with a clear emphasis on cutting edge research. The new professor has a good record of attracting external funds and is clearly committed to research in an interdisciplinary environment. State of the art facilities and a stimulating multidisciplinary environment will be provided. A commitment to cooperating with national and international scientific and professional organisations is also important. In addition, teaching undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English) in both groundwater and hydromechanics is expected.
