Professorship of Preventive Sports Medicine (TTAP)
The Assistant Professor is expected to explore the effects of physical activity on the organism in prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. The professorship shall work together with the Chair of Sports Medicine and the Departments of the University on an interdisciplinary basis.
Beside research, the tasks comprise a substantial involvement in teaching as well as in the implementation of curriculum reform of the Master's program in Sport Science, in administration and in organization of the Sports and Exercise Medicine Unit. Active involvement in the sports medicine clinic at DSBG is required. In case of a positive 5-year-evaluation, promotion to a Professor position will be initiated (Tenure Track).
Requirements:
* Medical degree, habilitation or equivalent postdoctoral qualification
* Several years of clinical experience in internal medicine or relevant sub-specialty
* Certified in sports medicine or equivalent qualification
* Innovative, internationally competitive research, preferably related to physiologic questions of preventive medicine
* Willingness to work with the departments of the Faculty of Medicine and across faculties
* Experience and enthusiasm in teaching
* Integrative and cooperative personality
* Good German language skills are required for the clinical work
