Betreff: Screening of "Half the Road"
Hello,
My name is Samantha Fox and I am an intern at the Sensory Motor Systems Lab at ETH. I am writing to you because together with ASVZ and world champion cyclist, Emma Pooley, I have organized a screening of the documentary, " Half the Road: The Passion, Pitfalls & Power of Women's Professional Cycling." The documentary is currently being screened all over the world, and I thought it may be of interest to you and those on your mailing list because it explores gender equality in professional women's cycling. If you are unfamiliar with some of the challenges women face in this male-dominated sport, they include unequal race distances and unequal money pay-outs. The documentary also shows how a group of top women (including local Emma Pooley) from the cycling and triathlon community fought to get the women's stage in the Tour de France this past 2014 tour (which did not previously exist). Their courageous actions leave viewers feeling motivated. I would love anyone interested to come watch the film as its lessons can be applied to all activities, sports, work, ect.
The event is this Thursday the 11th at ETH Lecture Hall HG D 7.1
18:15 Arrive
18:30 Hear World Champion Cyclist, Emma Pooley Speak
18:45 The screening begins
