Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Biomedical Image Computing
The Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (www.ee.ethz.ch<http://www.ee.ethz.ch>) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned position.
The successful candidate should have an outstanding track record of accomplishments both in research and teaching within this field, with the potential to establish an exceptional research program and a strong research group, with special emphasis on contributions to the advancement of personalized medical diagnosis and treatment. Clinical translation of the developed methods should be an important component of the work of the research group, building on collaborations within the existing cooperative network between ETH, the University of Zurich and the University Hospital Zurich (www.hochschulmedizin.uzh.ch<http://www.hochschulmedizin.uzh.ch>).
Teaching duties include the participation in advanced courses on biomedical image analysis, which should be open to several other Departments of ETH Zurich, like the Departments of Health Science and Technology, Computer Science or Mechanical and Process Engineering. Offering basic level teaching in interdisciplinary programs for non-engineering disciplines is also expected, in addition to participation in teaching general principles of image analysis and computer vision. Undergraduate level courses are taught in German or English, graduate level courses in English.
This assistant professorship has been established to promote the careers of younger scientists. The initial appointment is for four years with the possibility of renewal for an additional two-year period and promotion to a permanent position.
