The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for the following academic position effective August 1st, 2018:

Chair for Cardiology

This Full Professorship includes the Direction of the Department of Cardiology and co-chairing of the Zurich Heart Center with the head of cardiac surgery at the University Hospital of Zurich (USZ). Additional responsibilities are the promotion of clinical and translational cardiovascular research within the Department and the establishment of an independent research program, excellence in teaching of Cardiology within the Medical School, in post-graduate education and CME as well as coordinating the training and development of the next generation of physician-scientists in cardiovascular medicine. This chair function includes cooperating within the USZ Medical Department of cardiovascular and chest medicine (HGT) as well as the Zurich Heart Center.


Applicants are required to be Board certified in Cardiology and have a Habilitation or equivalent degree. They are expected to have an outstanding, internationally recognized record of accomplishment as researchers within an innovative domain of cardiovascular research. Of particular importance for this position is the candidate's ability and commitment to cooperate with existing groups and to foster excellent relations with external hospitals and local referring physicians as well as with national and international Cardiology Societies.
