Professor of Steel and Composite Structures

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (www.baug.ethz.ch<http://www.baug.ethz.ch>) at ETH Zurich within the Institute of Structural Engineering (www.ibk.ethz.ch<http://www.ibk.ethz.ch>) invites applications for the above-mentioned position.

The professorship covers teaching and research in the broad field of steel and composite structures. Particular focus is on the performance of steel and composite structures and performance improvement through innovative design and construction solutions and the use of advanced materials. Furthermore, the position entails providing advice and support to industry and authorities. Interests in large-scale experimental research, numerical simulation and digital fabrication as well as strong practical experience in conceptualisation and design of steel and composite structures are welcome.

Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in civil or structural engineering and have a strong structural engineering background. The new professor is expected to offer an attractive teaching programme in both the Bachelor's (German or English) and Master's degree courses (English) and remain committed to excellence in education as well as developing, applying and promoting modern teaching methods.
