Professur für Landschaftsarchitektur

Im Departement Architektur (www.arch.ethz.ch<http://www.arch.ethz.ch>) der ETH Zürich ist die oben erwähnte Position zu besetzen. Die Professur ist dem Institut für Landschaftsarchitektur (ILA) zugeordnet.

Die neue Professorin bzw. der neue Professor vermittelt den Studierenden im neuen Master- Studiengang in Landschaftsarchitektur praktische Grundlagen, methodische Kenntnisse und fachspezifisches Wissen im Bereich des landschaftsarchitektonischen Entwerfens. Sie oder er betreut Doktorierende, führt eine Gruppe von Mitarbeitenden und engagiert sich für die Entwicklung des Departements über das eigene Fach hinaus. Dabei steht sie bzw. er in Lehre und Forschung in ständigem Austausch mit Fachprofessuren in angrenzenden Fachgebieten. Am Departement Architektur werden Vorlesungen im Master-Studium in der Regel in Deutsch oder Englisch gehalten.

Erfolgreiche Bewerberinnen und Bewerber sind international renommierte Persönlichkeiten, vertreten eine eigenständige und prägnante Position innerhalb des aktuellen Diskurses und verfügen über ein substanzielles landschaftsarchitektonisches Œuvre. Weitere Qualifikationen sind ein abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium, Lehr- und Forschungserfahrung und vertiefte landschaftsarchitektonische Praxiserfahrung, die durch relevante Projekte in eigener Verantwortung nachgewiesen wird. Neben der profunden fachlichen wird auch Führungskompetenz vorausgesetzt.

Professor of Landscape Architecture

The Department of Architecture (www.arch.ethz.ch<http://www.arch.ethz.ch>) at the ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned position. The professorship is housed within the Institute for Landscape Architecture (ILA).

The new professor is called upon to impart to students the underlying principles, methodological insights, and specific expertise of the field of landscape architecture design. She or he supervises doctoral candidates, leads a group of employees, and is committed to the Department’s overall development, above and beyond the interests of its own particular field. She or he accordingly engages in constructive exchange on issues of teaching and research with peers and colleagues in the related disciplines.
As a rule, Master’s program lectures in the Department of Architecture are given in German or English.

Successful candidates are internationally renowned personalities, who represent an independent and incisive position within current discourse, and have forged a substantial oeuvre in the field of landscape architecture. Further requirements are a university degree, experience in teaching and research, and a track record in landscape architecture  professional practice proven by a convincing portfolio of personally initiated and/or realized projects. Outstanding academic achievements must be complemented by a demonstrable capacity for leadership.
