We are the Diversity Team within the D-ITET and we are hosting a Panel Discussion next Wednesday May 26th 2021 on Overcoming Bias in Academia. We currently only have 20 people signed up for the event. Could you possibly send out the information in your newsletter?


Here is the email we have sent out to our Department:

The D-ITET Diversity Team (D+ITET) will be hosting a Panel Discussion titled: "Overcoming
Bias in Academia" on Wednesday May 26th 2021 from 4 pm - 5 pm.

We have three panelists:


  *   Professor Gabriela Hug from D-ITET
  *   Christian Pierce, program manager for the Competence Center for Diversity and Inclusion at the University of St. Gallen and
  *   Estefania Cuero, Diversity Trainer and Doctoral Student studying Human Rights at the University of Lucerne


The goal of this discussion is to identify existing issues in academia and to raise awareness for stereotypes and discrimination at Swiss Universities. Further, we will discuss how to create strategies for empathy and actionable plans to transform institutional culture.
