Dear colleagues

We are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract to our symposia at the BRIDGES 2022 conference.

Title of the symposia: “Doing Intersectional Research: Challenges and Practical Considerations“
Deadline of submission: April 15, 2022

In our symposia, we aim to discuss the question of how researchers deal with intersectionality in their research, how do they define and conceptualize it? The aim of this symposium is to initiate a discourse on the challenges and to discuss possible solutions.

We particularly welcome contributions that:

  * introduce intersectional discrimination in quantitative or qualitative research in general,
  * specifically address the vagueness of intersectionality in empirical research,
  * place the concept of intersectionality itself at the center of the analysis, whether from a methodological or a theoretical perspective,
  * introduce race as one facet of intersectional discrimination in the European context and/or put it into comparison with the U.S. context.

However, we also welcome contributions that do not fall exactly under the above examples, but generally fit to the outline of the symposia.
