level.
The new professor is expected to address outstanding research questions in

emphasis on health and disease across the human lifespan.
Candidates must have an excellent research background in human
(patho)physiology, using invasive and/or non-invasive procedures. They
should hold a medical degree and be qualified for clinical work, having
demonstrated a strong track record in combining basic research with
translational activities. Experience in modelling multi-organ systems and an
interest in combining hypothesis- and data-driven research are highly
desired and would be an asset. The new professor is expected to establish
and lead a competitive research team, focused on integrative human
physiology/metabolism within an interactive and interdisciplinary research
environment. The new professor is expected to synergize with the extensive
technical expertise at ETH Zurich, striving to enhance the translational
drive from fundamental research to human therapeutic applications. Access to
patients will be ensured through strategic collaborations with partnering
clinics of ETH Zurich or through a part time clinical employment.
Additional prerequisites include a strong motivation and commitment to teach
in the area of Human Physiology. The professorship will be embedded in the
Department’s teaching program in Health Sciences and Technology, as well as
Human Medicine, and will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses
(in German or English), as well as graduate level courses (in English).
