[Oberon] printer daemon

Linux documentation says that this Debian
system can run LPD or LPRng or CUPS and 
that LPRng and CUPS are preferable to LPD.

The Oberon printer Web page describes use
with LPD.  Before I set that up, has anyone
tested LPRng or CUPS?  Recommendations?
