Also, whether fd0 booting or not, consider Smart Boot Manager:

It's insanely useful for booting from CD on machines whose BIOS won't
support it, but it's also great at booting arbitrary OSes from
arbitrary partitions without learning the ins and outs of the various
boot managers or packing around the boot floppies for the OSes of your
choice.
