Leave the multi-user / multi-tasking to the OS specialists.

Linux has zillions of contributors.
ETHO for linux serves me well.

It can't render the ever increasing pdf curse,
nor the several Micro$loth proprietory formats,
but the underlying linux can - mostly.

Then why do I need ETHO?

Eg.. to co-ordinate the contents of 6 files [some in DOS, *nix format]
all seen together on the SAME screen,
with the additional ability to EASILY use color,
to give an extra dimension of differentiation.

I know of no other system that can do this.
