AFAIR I was asking a 'higher' question than <what do the cartoon-based
systems offer>;
namely: if you only had one option, why don't proper users select by
recentcy instead
of alphabetical ordering.

BTW I'm testing your claim that you only need 2 'windows' for a typical job.
I'm trying to test kmail, and I need:
1 for manual
2 for log of actions & results
3 for launching kmail
4 for search previous logs re. gmail <specs>
5 for working gmail to get interpretation of error message
6 to seek NNTP *kmail*
7 template to <google: gmail=password+kmail>
.... I haven't succeeded yet but I'm optimistic, since I can allocate
plenty more X-terminals.
