Exactly! 

All of these recent issues seem to be confined to the Linux version of
Oberon. I currently have the Windows version configured with each pane as a
separate Window. In that mode there is an 'Ascii' menu on each menu which
has the following options:

Store Ascii
Store Unicode
Store Unix
Store Mac
