Notepad? Not mentioned in my message.
The subject of my message was "A server allowing revisions
to source Texts." The objective is to find a way to
archive the source files for an Oberon workstation so
that revisions can be incorporated and published efficiently.
The primary audience comprises Oberon workstations.
Web browsers comprise a possible secondary audience. If a
Web browser can display an Oberon source legibly, whether
from a file or from a communication stream, is that
objectionable? Why?

I don't understand how that pertains to the objective.
