Newer systems seem less usable than previous models ?!
--------
The user cannot easily return and continue the task/s previously logged-out of.
With a proper system, the user ALWAYS has acces to his <master File>.
Eg. with NativeOberon & LEO a fixed-Start-Command always gave
immediate access to
the same <opening environment>.
I found it convenient to use a token which always was displayed at
startUp as the name
of my <MasterStartFile>.
With Aos:Oberon, if I save my work in System.Log , this is lost,
instead of being immediately available, at future re-launches.
Apparently the default directory depends on from where Aos was launched.
That's more absurd than needing to know a password, which changes as
the launch directory
changes. Also it seems not immediately obvious how to get
<System.CurrentDirectory>
which I confirmed V4 gives and is recognised as an essential <front
line> command.
---------------
The PATH length seems limited:
System.Directory /mnt/C/Users/Public/CRG/* ==
/mnt/C/Users/Public/CRG/Access
/mnt/C/Users/Public/CRG/AI
...
But:
System.Directory /mnt/C/Users/Public/CRG/ETHO/V4/* ==
/mnt/C/Users/Public/CRG/ETHO/V4
I don't think LEO had this old limitation of NativeOberon.
The new systems seem only for superficial demos and not
suitable as work-horses like NO & LEO.
