PS: There is a small proof-of-concept for a *generic* heap allocation routine New(ptr, size) that accepts a 'size' argument:
andreaspirklbauer/Oberon-generic-heap-allocation 

It resembles the code in Bitmaps.Mod (and could be used within it).
