I seem to remember that ......V4 does ....

Text.Store *
   can/could examine the <file corresponding to the marked Frame,
or better the 'Frame's Buffer'> and store in the <same format>.

Schematically:
  DiskFile <==> TextBuffer => ScreenBitMap

TextBuffer's format is known at all times.
The default case could be <Store TextBuffer in its present format, in DiskFile>.

You need all 3 formats: Aos, *nix, FAT; and what about these clowns who've
updated, so that the century's old ASCII "quote" is now 3 bytes ?
