Today installed LinuxA2.tgz and LinuxA2.generic.tgz in in Debian 9, 
stretch.

>From LinuxA2, aos succeeds and PET opens source files.   An attempt to 
open the Oberon subsystem gives a black window. The black window has 
appeared with earlier releases but mouse activity usually vitalized it.  
Not for this release.

>From LinuxA2.generic, aos fails promptly with this report to the 
terminal.
Unix.Dlsym:  entry 'clock_gettime' not found
