Still available in S3 Native and in the Oberon subsystem of UnixAos.

Appears that Gmail can be used.  The introduction of 
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gmail states "Users can access Gmail on 
the web ..., as well as through third-party programs ... through POP 
or IMAP protocols." 

For SMTP you will need a local server as outlined here.

Linux or other non-Oberon system.

You don't want Evolution but the instructions might help with 
configuration.
