AIUI: it runs inside web browsers (and nowhere else), in the same
sandboxed runtime environment as JS code, and can call JS modules and
access the browser via JS APIs.
In other words, one of the fastest-changing platforms in the world,
one where old versions of programs are from 6 months earlier, one
where OSes that are a few years out of support cannot access current
resources at all.
For me, it's more than close enough...
